Stuff the Bus
In 2014 the Ivancich Martin & Costis youth foundation began holding its bi-annual Stuff the Bus back to school give away. Much like our work with the students of Marsh Elementary in 2011, this event allows kids in need to come get school supplies free of charge. The giveaway was started by the foundation’s Youth Ambassador, High school freshman Claryssa Wilson, and aims to make keeping Antioch's youth in school just a little easier. The Ivancich, Martin, & Costis Youth Foundation is committed to continuously helping these kids , which is why we hold the event twice a year so the students can replenish their supplies, creating even more incentive to do well in school. On the mornings of events East Contra Costa County youth line up outside or offices with their school IDs. After they are let in they then go through the room collecting a back pack and which ever supplies they might need for their grade level. We are proud to say that the event has so far helped around three hundred students and was even featured on KRON 4 news!
